Bogart SE 5 User manual
you will end up in the music archives. If you have previously re-
corded radio broadcasts or imported audio CDs, their contents
will be listed here and can be edited further or played and used
or burned on a CD.
Click on the Record button to get to the CD/DVD/USB Import
menu.
First, you must indicate the source from which you want to
import.
If you choose the Disk medium, you will be asked to insert a
CD/DVD. This can be a regular audio CD/DVD as well as an
MP3-CD/DVD.
If you have saved the audio data on a USB medium, such as
a USB stick, you should connect the stick to a free USB port.
You should then select the USB option. The software will now
look for USB devices and the results will be shown in a list.
Select your USB medium. If you want to import audio via the
network or via UPnP, the software will look for any sources
and list those found. Once you have selected the source, you
should import them with OK, Add. The difference with the nor-
mal OK is the following. OK is used to list the contents of the
medium that were already known from the last import. This
dœs not include changes on the medium. This way, there is no
new reading time, which can be quite long if there are lots of
files. If you had not read this medium before or if it had been
changed since the last time, you must ‘import new’.
Regardless of which medium from which you want to import
your music data, the data contained on the medium will be
listed in the list on the left side with the corresponding file
names.
The titles are displayed with their length in the list on the left -
they have not yet been imported! In the top part of the screen,
you will also be shown the name of the album, the artist and
the total length of the titles.
Note: Since the information regarding the audio CD is dis-
played using a built-in music database, it is possible that rare
or newer CDs cannot be identified.
The buttons P+ and P- can be used to navigate through
the list. Use OK to add the selected titles to the list (already
selected) on the right. During import, the system automatically
checks if the file already exists in the archives. If this is the
case, the music piece is shown in a different color in the list. If
the title is the same, but all other information not, the item will
be shown in yellow. If the title, album and length are the same,
it will be shown in red. Use the Info button to retrieve informa-
tion stored on the CD with respect to the selected title, if it is
available. Of course, you can play the selected title by clicking
the Play button.
Press Stop to stop playback.
In order to delete a piece form the list, select it using the up
and down directional buttons and press the red heart button.
If you have inserted an audio CD, you can press the Options
button to determine the file format. This will open a selector in
which you can choose between the leaving the file unchanged
and the space-saving MP3 format (in three quality settings:
high, medium and low). If you have made your choice, close
the selector and the window by clicking on OK. To store the
selected titles on the hard disk, press the 7 key (Import). While
importing, the system will display the state of progress.
When all of the tracks have been imported, the tray will open
and you can remove the CD. The list will now be empty and
you can return to the music archives.
7.1.6 Creating a play list
To create a playlist from the imported music files, press the
Options button in the Music Archives and then on ‘4-Playlists’
(List button on the remote control) to call up the ‘Music Playl-
ists’ screen. The list on the left contains the filter list you have
created, all songs you have so far imported in the order you
wanted or only one selection that you have created with the
help of the filter. Use the < and > buttons to change the folder
view of your titles. The P+ and P- buttons are used to navigate
in the list and select the desired entry. Use the OK function to
add the currently selected entry to the list on the right (playl-
ist). If you select an entire album (see above) to copy all of the
album’s entries to the playlist. Click on the Info button to open
a window with a table of contents of the selected recording (in-
cluding date and channel of the recording) insofar it has been
provided by the broadcaster.
With the left and right directional buttons, you will be able to
move through the three views. The view ‘All titles’ contains all
available recordings, the view ‘All’ puts the recordings with
the same name in an album (for recordings of series) and the
album contents has the recordings contained in the album that
was previously marked.
